Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair; a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.
While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.
The first time I heard of this book’s author name I was like,”hmm, that name sounds familiar.” but for some reason I couldn’t pinpoint where I read or heard it from. Thankfully, Christine from PolandbananasBOOKS made a book haul and Royals was one of the book she hauled and briefly shared some information about the author.
so yeah, moving on…
After knowing who Rachel Hawkins is, I now understand why I didn’t remember who she is immediately; It’s because Rebel Belle was actually one of the books I discontinued reading! I KNOW. I’M SORRY. And you know what? I almost, stopped reading this book because of the same silly reason why I didn’t finished Rebel Belle.
Thankfully, I didn’t. Because you know what? I ACTUALLY HAD FUN THIS BOOK.
The humour this book has is just the one I need to help me out of my slump. I was laughing so hard with all the remarks Daisy throws at whoever because honestly, I can relelate. I also tend to do that when I’m nervous (not as witty as Daisy’s of course. Hahaha)
Another reason as to why I decided to continue on with this book is the Writing Style. There’s just something into Rachel’s writing style that will make you want to read pages after pages. It’s just really wonderful how she writes!
The plot? Oh wow! That’s really something! Who doesn’t love even just a glimpse of the Royal Life? Well, Daisy didn’t. Af first. But seeing her adventures in and out of the palace is just really fascinating to read about. And yeah, yeah, I know it’s unrealistic but who cares? This book is a great escape!
Okay, so, I know that this is YA and romance is obviously present in this book BUT I feel like the romance in this book is not that heavy — WHICH I LOVE. I mean, sure the times we see Daisy and Miles together are swoon worthy but I just appreciate the fact that we don’t see a lot of it that instead of it being swoon worthy, it became cringed worthy. Haha.
and I think that’s all my thoughts about this book. Do I recommend it? YES, YES, YES. It has a very unique story about Royals that I don’t think I’ve read anywhere else before. Perfect for summer reading; Very light, fluffy, with just a bit of Royal Family drama thrown here and there.
MY RATING: ❤️❤️❤️❤️
